This
project consists of 2 zones of radiant snowmelt at a school for
disabled children. There is also 5,000 square feet of radiant floor
heat throughout the building. |
One zone of the radiant snow melt is in an entrance ramp.
| |
The second zone of radiant snow melt is in a sidewalk on the other
side of the building.
| |
The radiant snowmelt system not only melts the snow but also provides
a safe, dry surface for the students.
| |
The system is fed by a dual boiler system, providing greater system
efficiency as well as redundancy.
| |
The control panel for the system provides independent mixes for
the radiant slab and staple-up portions of the heating system in
addition to the snowmelt mixing system. The snowmelt control uses
a fully automatic snow/ice detector to initiate a call for snowmelt,
and it returns the system to an idle mode upon completion of the
melting process.
