Henson Storage Facility

The Henson Storage facility consists of 13,500 square feet of radiant heat with 2 boilers and includes a climate control room for storage of heirlooms.

The basement radiant distribution consists of 8,000 feet of PEX tubing attached to wire mesh.

The main floor of the building consists of concrete planking with a 2” over-pour of concrete. The tubing was installed in a track system that was fixed to the concrete planking below.

The concrete was poured after the building shell was complete. A crane pump was used to pump the concrete into the building.

The boiler system consists of two Buderus boilers which are staged with boiler temperature reset. The dual boiler system provides greater system efficiency as well as redundancy.

The control panel (fabricated in our shop) provides 4 zones of radiant floor heat, domestic hot water, and additional heat to the air-handling system. There are also controls to activate a central fan for nighttime cooling in the summer.
