Radiant Design designed and installed a state-of-the-art radiant
heating system into this custom home built in the "Woodstock
Handmade House" artistic tradition. This project was the 1st
place winner of the 2001 Radiant Panel Association's System Showcase
Award and is the subject of a
feature article in Radiant Heating Report 2001.

Radiant tubing is embedded in a thin slab poured over the framed
floor.
The
radiant thin slabs are covered with soapstone tile, matching the
"Tulakivi" wood-burning stove.
The
master bathroom floor is also soapstone. Supplemental heat is provided
by fin-tube located a custom oak enclosure at the base of the floor
sill. |
Due to the post and beam construction, radiant panel radiators were
chosen to heat the second floor. Here in the bedroom they frame the
bed to provide even radiant warmth. |
